Hit my 500th pothole repair last week and it messed with my head

I've been filling potholes on my street as a weird side hobby for about 3 years now. Last Tuesday I counted up my bags of cold patch asphalt and it came out to exactly 500 repairs. Never thought I'd hit that number, I just started because one massive hole kept ripping my trailer hitch off. Does anyone else keep obsessive counts on their odd hobbies or am I the only one who does this?

You know what's wild about hitting that 500 mark is you've probably mapped out the whole street's drainage issues without meaning to. The potholes that keep coming back in the same spots after a rain are telling you where the runoff pools or the ground is settling, not just random road wear. I bet if you looked at a satellite view and cross-referenced your repair spots with storm drains or low points there'd be a pattern. Ever thought about charting which repairs held up longest and which crumbled again in like a month? That data could be worth more than just counting the bags.
