TIL I was putting my contacts in backwards for 6 years...

I always had that blurry feeling for about 30 minutes after putting them in, but I figured it was normal since I have astigmatism. Then the optometrist at my checkup last week in Chicago asked why my lenses were inside out and showed me the 'taco test' trick. Anyone else go way too long doing something basic wrong because nobody ever told you the right way?
