That chat with my dad at 2 AM about why I work so late
My dad called me last night around 2 AM because he couldn't sleep. He asked why I'm always up at that hour doing paperwork for my landscaping bids instead of sleeping. I told him it's the only time I can think without clients calling or crews needing something. He said "you know you're just making up for the quiet you didn't get during the day." That made me stop and wonder if I'm actually working smarter or just avoiding the chaos. Any of you night owls ever have someone call you out on why you're really up?

Your dad hit on something real, man. I think a lot of us night owls aren't just choosing the quiet, we're actually running from the noise of the day. It's like we trade one kind of busy for another, but at least at 2 AM the only thing demanding our attention is the paperwork. Reminds me of how people say they clean their house when they're avoiding a big project, just a different flavor of the same thing.
