Paid $450 for a screen-used blaster from a cult sci-fi show, ended up being a 3D print from Etsy

I dropped $450 on what the seller swore was a real hero prop from a 90s TV series, complete with a COA and everything. Got it in the mail and the thing had visible layer lines and a cheap paint job, definitely a garage 3D print. Anyone else get burned by fake props from online auctions or is there a way to spot these before you pull the trigger?

Visible layer lines" man, that stinks. I used to think those COAs were legit, but this definitely changed my mind on trusting any "screen used" stuff from online auctions.

Haha I once bought a "studio used" prop that was literally hot glued together.
