Tried fixing a wobbly chair with glue before screws, learned my lesson the hard way

I used wood glue on a loose leg and it held for 3 days until my buddy leaned back and the whole thing snapped. Now I drill pilot holes and use screws every time - glue alone just cant handle real weight. Has anyone else had a quick fix backfire like that?

the whole thing snapped" is wild. You got lucky it held that long, I would have been even more shocked if it broke under you on day one.
