PSA: That $15 dollar store glue gun gave out halfway through my curtain rod project

I needed to glue some fabric patches onto a wooden curtain rod last weekend. Picked up a cheap mini glue gun from the dollar store for $15. Worked fine for the first five minutes then just stopped heating up mid stick. Had to finish the whole thing with a candle and a metal spoon melting the glue on top of a cardboard box. Has anyone found a decently priced glue gun that actually lasts more than one project?

Lol that "MacGyver level" comment got me. My buddy tried the same thing with a cheap glue gun and ended up melting his spoon handle too.
