Pro tip: Found out I was sanding my cutting board wrong for 2 years
I was using that fine grit sandpaper on my end-grain cutting board every month... making it look worse and worse. A guy at the farmers market last Saturday saw me doing it and laughed. He said I needed to use a scraper instead, not sandpaper at all. Has anyone else killed a board this way before figuring it out?
Honestly, that farmers market guy was a hero for stopping you. But here's something nobody talks about - you can actually just use a fresh, sharp knife to gently scrape the surface too. Works way better than a scraper if you don't have one handy.
