Had to explain to a judge why I saved 14 years of company emails
Last month I got pulled into a deposition over a lawsuit my old employer filed against a vendor, and the opposing lawyer kept asking why I had emails going back to 2010 on a personal drive. Has anyone else been in that spot where your own file-saving habits get turned against you?

Stop hanging onto that much stuff. It's the same problem as people keeping every receipt or old phone charger. You just create a huge target for yourself.

Did you ever have that one friend who kept every single Beanie Baby because they were sure it'd pay for their retirement? I knew a guy in college who had his whole dorm room wall-to-wall with those things, tags still on. He spent more on storage bins than the toys were worth. Now he just uses them as weird doorstops.
