Just passed the 500th billable hour mark on a single case this week

I've been doing contract work for a mid-size firm in Phoenix and one divorce case just keeps dragging on - we're at motion number 17 now. The other side keeps filing these tiny procedural objections that have to be answered in writing every time. Has anyone else had a case where the hours just kept stacking up way past what you expected?

Track your time in 6-minute increments and bill for every single email and phone call.

Man @james533 talking about tracking in 6 minute increments makes me realize I'd probably bill myself for the time I spent staring at my phone trying to remember what I was supposed to email about in the first place. Honestly though, I tried that system for a week and ended up spending more time logging my time than actually doing my work, which is a real problem when you're billing in tiny chunks like that. It works great for people with discipline, but for someone like me who forgets what they had for breakfast, it might be a lost cause.
