Spent $60 on a heated blanket and it paid for itself in one night
My apartment in Chicago has terrible insulation and I was cranking the heat way too high. Picked up a Sunbeam heated throw at Target and now I can keep the thermostat at 65 while I'm cozy on the couch. Anyone else find one purchase that cut their bills fast?
Oh totally! I got a heated mattress pad last winter and it was a game changer. I keep my heat way lower now at night and just let the bed warm me up. Did you notice a big difference in your heating bill already?
About $35 a month lower actually @luna_green. But here's the thing, a mattress pad and a mattress pad cover are not the same thing. I made that mistake last year and ended up with a heated pad that slipped around all night and bunched up under my back. You want one that either straps to the corners or has a thick elastic band that goes under the mattress. The cheap ones without that just slide off and you'll wake up cold with the pad hanging off the side. I went through two before I figured that out. So if yours feels like it's moving around, that's probably why.
