I finally stopped hating my slow cooker after a talk with my aunt
My aunt Carol came over last Sunday and saw me babying this 12 year old crock pot, stirring it every hour like a lunatic. She laughed and said 'you're not making a souffle, just walk away and read a book.' It hit different because she's 68 and cooks for half the street on holidays, so I actually listened. Now I dump everything in, set it at 4am, and go back to bed until dinner time. Has anyone else had a family member drop some obvious truth bomb that fixed a dumb habit?
Did you ever catch yourself stirring it every 20 minutes and feeling like you were doing something wrong if you didn't? Because that was totally me until my sister yelled at me to close the lid and go sit down. Now I just toss stuff in and let it do its thing, and honestly the food comes out better too.
