My sister's ranch dip comment flipped my whole snack routine
Last Tuesday my sister watched me eat pretzels with plain hummus and she goes "you're missing the point of hummus, it's not a dip it's a base." Then she handed me a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos and told me to crush them into the hummus. I thought she was nuts but tried it, and wow the ranch powder mixed with the tahini taste is like a whole new thing. Now I'm putting crushed chips on everything from guac to queso, and I'm wondering what other bases I've been treating like toppings. Anyone else had a condiment epiphany from a weird family comment?

Wait, crushed Doritos in hummus? That's insane. I mean, I get the ranch powder thing but the texture would be all crunchy and weird. My mom once told me to add pickle juice to potato salad and I thought she lost it, but now I can't eat it without the brine. Your sister might actually be onto something, but I'm drawing the line at queso. That stuff is sacred.
