Spent 45 minutes digging through a drawer for a single screw... then found it in my pocket

I needed a tiny screw to fix my glasses hinge, so I tore apart my whole junk drawer for 45 minutes digging through old keys, batteries, and random fasteners. Turns out the screw was stuck to a lint ball in my hoodie pocket the whole time. Is it worse to waste time searching in the wrong place, or to give up too soon only to find it later?

Thirty bucks says I've done that with my phone before, but yeah, losing a screw for 45 minutes then finding it in your pocket is brutal. One time I tore my whole garage apart for a weird socket wrench, spent an hour hunting, then realized it was in my back pocket from when I used it the day before. My buddy still brings it up whenever I misplace anything. The worst part is the mix of relief and pure embarrassment when you pull it out. Feels like the universe is just messing with you at that point.

Once I looked for my glasses for twenty minutes while wearing them.
