Just realized the trick to rusty screws is old candle wax

I was trying to unscrew a stubborn bolt on a desk drawer from 1982 in my garage last week, and nothing was working. After 20 minutes of fighting it, I rubbed a birthday candle stub on the threads and it came loose in seconds. Has anyone else tried this for stuck hardware in old junk finds?

and actually @michael693 mentioned that candle wax trick and it reminded me, my buddy mark was restoring an old metal tool chest and he used crayons cause he couldn't find candles. worked just as good he said, the wax just melts down into the threads and frees everything up.

Yeah, candle wax works great. I've used it on old bike parts and stuck drawer slides too.
