Just finished my first plant shelf and I'm so proud!

I had a blank wall in my kitchen that needed some life. I grabbed some basic boards and put together a simple shelf over the weekend. All my herbs and small succulents fit perfectly on it now. They get way more sun and look so happy! This little project really made my whole place feel cozier.

Is your kitchen window facing south? I tried a similar setup in my bathroom with some ferns, and the damp air made them grow all weird and stretched out. They looked like they were reaching for the door. I ended up moving them to a spot with softer light, and now they're just kinda there, not trying to run away.

Yeah, south-facing windows can be brutal for some plants. My kitchen faces south too, and I put a peace lily there once. The leaves got all crispy and sad, like they were begging for shade. Moved it to the living room with indirect light, and now it just sits there, not throwing a fit anymore. It's like plants have their own drama when the light's wrong. Honestly, I've given up on anything that needs direct sun in that spot.

Plants acting up over light shows how everything has its own perfect spot to be happy.
