A quiet disaster in my utility closet
I put too many heavy things on a wire shelf while organizing. It seemed fine for a while. Then the shelf slowly bent until it gave way. Now I have a pile of laundry detergent and cleaning supplies on the floor. The rack was rated for much less weight than I thought. I had to spend an afternoon cleaning up and buying a new shelf. Always check the load limits before you stack stuff up.

What made you think it was fine while it was bending?

Had a cheap plastic storage tub full of old books give out on me once... bottom just split open while it was in the attic. Had to pick up all these mildewy paperbacks from between the floor joists.
