A deep dive into sailor diaries flipped my idea about the Bermuda Triangle

Old accounts from crews who sailed through it paint a much less spooky picture than I thought.

The 1945 loss of Flight 19 had five skilled pilots and GOOD weather reports. That doesn't just vanish without a trace from simple bad weather. Modern ships with GPS still send weird last messages from that zone. The ocean floor there has methane bubbles that could sink ships in minutes. So many smart people have looked at this and still can't explain EVERY case. The normal stories don't cover all the weird stuff that happens.

Totally feel you, erica13, it's wild how myths grow.

I read that like 50 ships go through that area every day without issue. Most of the famous disappearances had pretty normal explanations, like bad weather. Makes you wonder why it got so built up into this huge mystery.
