Why I'll never understand hikers who eat cold sandwiches at the top
Honestly, watching everyone eat protein bars while I have a warm meal feels like a cheat code. On my last hike up Granite Peak, I brought a container of pasta salad I prepped at work. Ngl, it boosted my energy and kept me happy all day. If you're serious about hiking, you need to step up your food game. Trust me, it's worth the extra five minutes in the kitchen.

Seriously? I'm with @henry_wells75 on this. A good sandwich is way less weight to carry and you don't have to worry about it getting weird and warm in your pack. My turkey and cheese tastes just fine cold at the summit, and I didn't waste any morning prep time.

You know, I was all about sandwiches like @king.lisa for the longest time. But then I tried packing a wrap with hummus and veggies (it sounds weird, I know) and it stayed fresh and didn't get soggy. The difference was huge, especially on longer hikes where sandwiches would get crushed. Now I'm converted, even though I miss the simplicity sometimes.
