Can we talk about my flip on small town trips?
I thought they were dull, but a hidden village won me over.

Actually, it's more about choosing to see than waiting to notice. The quiet charm of small towns can sneak up on you if you let it.

Yeah that bit about the hidden village winning you over. I've noticed I do that with a lot of stuff I write off as boring at first. Like, I'll skip the local diner for a chain, but then finally try it and the food's way better. Or I'll think a park bench is just a place to sit, but then you notice the same old couple there every day feeding birds. It's like my brain needs a minute to catch up to the simpler things.

Remembered my friend complaining about his bus stop for months, just a dirty bench under some ugly wires. Then one day he points out how the morning light hits the power lines just right, making these weird perfect shadows on the pavement. Now he sends me photos of different shadow patterns like it's some daily art show. Totally changed that whole corner for him once he slowed down to see it. Makes you wonder what else we're missing by rushing past, right?
