Serious question, how do you guys handle fitting a new extractor on a 1911 these days?
I used to file them by hand for hours, but after a class in Tulsa, I switched to using a jig with a Dremel for the initial shaping. It cut the job down to about 20 minutes. What's your preferred method for getting that hook angle right?

Still filing by hand? I thought we all switched to using a jig years ago.

That Tulsa class was a game changer for me too. I still finish with a file, but the jig saves so much time.

Yeah, the jig method is a real time saver. A buddy of mine tried it after hearing about it from @margaret_flores17, and he said it was way easier than his old hand filing. He still fusses with the final fit, but that initial shape is done in no time.
