Question about a 1911 sear spring I saw at a gun show in Tulsa

I watched a guy at the Tulsa gun show last month set a sear spring tension with just his thumb and a feeler gauge, no jig, and it made me rethink my whole bench process for that job, so how do you guys usually set yours?
