Tried to speedrun my way through a puzzle in Breath of the Wild and broke the whole quest chain

I was playing last week and found this shrine where you had to roll a ball down a maze. Instead of doing it the normal way, I tried to cheese it by launching the ball with stasis and a sledgehammer. It flew straight into a river and despawned, and I couldn't reset the puzzle without reloading my save from an hour earlier. Has anyone else ever broken a quest by getting too clever with the physics?

Nah, I gotta push back on that a bit @campbell.robin. Sometimes life just throws unexpected expenses at you and saving isn't always that simple.
