DAE spend 3 hours on a supposedly easy quest then realize you skipped the obvious step?
I was playing a RPG last weekend, one of those open world ones with a ton of side missions. There's this one quest where you need to find three hidden keys in a haunted mansion. I searched every room, checked all the drawers, even climbed on the roof like a lunatic. After 3 hours, I finally looked at the quest log again and it literally said 'talk to the ghost in the kitchen' which I had walked past like 5 times. Has anyone else just completely ignored a simple instruction and made everything way harder?

Man that's rough but I feel that pain deep in my bones. Happens to me way too often in games where I get tunnel vision and just start brute forcing everything instead of reading the obvious clue. That quest log thing is a killer too because you assume you already know what it says and skip right over the one line you need. Bet you felt pretty dumb walking into that kitchen but honestly the game designers probably put that ghost in a spot that's easy to miss on purpose. Sometimes you just need to take a break and come back fresh instead of banging your head against the wall for three hours.

Haha nah man, I'm gonna push back on this one. Sounds like you just weren't paying attention, not that the game was being tricky. Most RPGs literally put the objective right in front of you, you know? I bet if you slowed down and actually read the dialogue instead of mashing A, you'd have spotted that ghost on the first pass.
