Why my worst grade in design school came from a font everyone hates
My teacher hated when I picked Comic Sans for a project. He said it was lazy and unprofessional. I kept the design and showed it to a local business owner. She loved how cheerful and easy to read it was. Now I believe inspiration can come from breaking the rules, not following them.

Sometimes the best ideas come from ignoring the rule book completely.

Yeah but sometimes that "rule book" @morgan_mason is just what keeps things from falling apart. Like in my old band, skipping basic practice to just jam sounded cool but we never got any better. There's a place for knowing the rules before you try to break them.

Totally get that. Once tried to build a treehouse without any plans. Just had some wood and nails. Looked cool from the ground but collapsed when my cousin climbed up. Had to start over with basic measurements. Now it's solid but lost that wild look we wanted.
