Saw a mural in Portland that used just three colors but looked so deep. How do they do that?

But what if color theory is actually super deep? Like, think about how a fast food place uses red and yellow to make you feel hungry and rushed. Or how hospitals use soft blues and greens to keep people calm. That's not just picking pretty colors, it's using science to change how people act and feel. Isn't that basically psychology, which is pretty complex stuff?
