That one curved glass panel in the Denver library project was a real headache

We had to install a huge curved tempered piece, about 12 feet long, and the radius was just slightly off from the drawings. Spent almost two full days just trying to get the setting blocks and gasket to seat right without putting stress on the glass. Has anyone else run into a mismatch between the shop drawings and the actual building steel for a custom curve?

Ugh, that sounds brutal. Did the fabricator own up to the mistake? Curves are never as easy as they look on paper.

Totally, curves on paper are a lie, I had a whole batch of bent steel come back looking like modern art.

Modern art might be worth more than whatever you were building anyway. Sounds like a good problem to have if you ask me. People get worked up over bent steel like it's the end of the world. Slap a coat of paint on it and call it a feature.
