Had a huge tempered glass panel start to slide on me in a high-rise lobby last month

We were installing a 10-foot tall frameless partition in a new office building in Denver. The suction cups on my lifter lost grip on one side as we were tilting it up, and the whole sheet started to go. I yelled to my partner and we both just shoved our shoulders into it to keep it from hitting the marble floor. Ended up having to lower it back down slowly and re-apply the cups with a ton of cleaner. Anyone else had a lifter fail at the worst possible moment? What brand do you actually trust?

Seriously? It sounds like you guys handled it fine and nothing actually broke. Those lifters slip sometimes but it's not like the glass was gonna explode. Just clean the cups better next time.

Our last slip cracked a whole shelf.

Man that's a nightmare scenario, glad you caught it. I've had a lifter slip on a smaller piece and it still makes my heart stop to think about it. @king.lisa knows the pain, a cracked shelf is bad enough but a full panel going is next level. We switched to the GGR ones after that and make sure to clean the cups every single time now.
