Cut my 1,000th piece of tempered glass for a mall job in Charlotte

I was packing up after a big storefront install and my helper pointed out the tally marks on my old cutter case. It was for a 12-foot panel, and the clean snap felt just like the first one. Who else keeps a physical count of their cuts, or is that just me?

Count the good ones, not just the total. I bet you remember the handful that went wrong more than the 999 that went right. That clean snap on number 1000 is a solid win.

That "clean snap" feeling is the best. I kept a log book for a while, just a cheap notebook. Writing down the big ones, like the first time I cut a full sheet of low-iron by myself, made the skill feel real. It wasn't about the number, it was about having proof I was getting better. I lost that book in a truck clean-out years ago and still miss it.
