Rant: A furnace door hinge broke on me at the Tacoma studio last month
It was a cheap cast piece that gave out during a big gather, and now I only use forged steel. Anyone know a good supplier for small parts like that?

Tacoma's humidity probably didn't help that cheap cast iron. Honestly, McMaster-Carr has some decent small forged bits if you're in a pinch.

Tried the McMaster forged stuff last year when my old set gave out. Still holding up fine in my damp garage.

Not sure it's that deep honestly. Most garage tools are gonna surface rust if you let them sit in puddles, forged or not. I've got a no-name set from Harbor Freight that's been in a cardboard box in my damp basement for like 6 years and they're still fine after a quick wipe with an oily rag. Maybe it's more about how much you use them and where you keep them than the brand. Your mileage may vary though.
