Noticed more folks at the farmers market asking for 'witchy' glass pendants lately.

Had to explain that no, my borosilicate pumpkins won't actually grant wishes, but it's fun to play along, isn't it?

Your mention of grant wishes reminded me of my friend who blows glass ornaments. A customer begged for a blue tear drop pendant to protect her new home. He told her it was just colored glass, but she wore it anyway like a shield. He realized the comfort she got from it was real, even if the magic wasn't. It's that fun of playing along that makes selling these things so interesting.

Actually, I love that he told her it was just glass. That honesty lets her choose the magic herself, which makes the comfort even more powerful. It's like the truth doesn't ruin the fun, it just changes the game.

Totally get that, it's like when my grandma gave me her old key ring she said was a "luck piece". I knew it was just a worn out thing from her junk drawer, but carrying it made me feel braver starting nursing school. The truth let me decide what it meant, which honestly made it MORE special because the feeling was mine, not something sold to me. That's way better than fake promises.
