It's such a knee-jerk reaction, makes me mad. The farmer's market near me banned blacksmithing demos last fall for the same silly reason.

Ugh, that's ridiculous! Nobody talks about how these bans kill off passing down hands-on skills. We're so wrapped up in bubble-wrapping everything that real crafts get shoved out. It's not just about safety theater, it's about losing touch with making things by hand. They could set up a safety zone with rules instead of just saying no. That market probably didn't even try to find a middle ground.
