Bought a 'bargain' glory hole kit online and it was basically scrap metal
Found a full setup for 300 bucks on some auction site, which seemed like a steal compared to the usual price. The burner assembly arrived with mismatched threads that wouldn't seal, and the refractory lining cracked after the first heat cycle. I lost the whole 300 and a Saturday afternoon trying to make it work before giving up. Should have just saved for a proper one from a known supplier. Anyone have a go-to brand for a small studio setup that won't fall apart?

My uncle got burned on a cheap table saw the same way. It feels like everything online is just gambling with your money now. You can't trust a photo or a price tag anymore.

@paige_martin right, but where do you even buy real stuff now?
