The boiling mud pots and geysers aren't just hot water. They show how alive the planet is, and it clicked for me.

Totally get that, those places felt like punishment as a kid. My most exciting school trip was watching PAINT dry on a mural. Took seeing a REAL geyser to realize rocks could actually DO something.

My big childhood rock moment was staring at some gravel by the driveway. Really makes you feel the Earth's power, you know?
