Vent: Bought a fancy wall-mounted bike rack that needed special tools to install
Spent over $200 on it and then another $75 for a weird hex key set just to get it on the wall. Anyone know a simpler way to hang two bikes without needing a whole new toolkit?

Have you checked if your local bike shop does installations? Mine charged like 20 bucks to put mine up after I had the same tool problem. They already have all the weird tools and it's way cheaper than buying them yourself. Sometimes they'll even do it while you wait if it's not too busy. Saved me from returning the whole rack and starting over.

Did you see that video about using a simple rope pulley system instead?

Honestly, I had the same headache with my rack and ended up just using a ratchet strap and a tree branch in my yard, haha. But the rope pulley @laura_ross mentioned is way better than what I did. For the actual mount, I just went to a buddy's garage and borrowed his torque wrench for five minutes. Saved me a trip to the shop and got it done without buying any specialty tools.
