Found a simple shelf trick at a garage sale that changed my setup

I was at a garage sale in Phoenix last month and this older guy showed me how he uses cheap wire shelving brackets upside down to hold spray cans. He had like 30 cans of paint and WD-40 lined up in his garage and they never fell off. I tried it in my own garage and it works great for $2 worth of brackets from Home Depot. Anyone else find random hacks like that from strangers?

Oh man, that bracket trick is genius. I have a terrible habit of buying spray paint for projects I never finish, so my cans just roll around in a cardboard box like a sad game of pickup sticks. Tried the upside down bracket thing after reading this and (not gonna lie) I spent way too long trying to screw them in the right way up before I realized your post said upside down. That's pretty on brand for me, honestly. I'm the kind of person who'd probably hang the brackets upside down and still put the cans on the wrong side somehow. But once I got it right, it's honestly the best two bucks I've spent on my garage. Now I just need to find the guy who figured out how to keep extension cords from looking like a knot of spaghetti.

Ha! That extension cord struggle is real. I literally bought one of those retractable cord reels last year and it's still sitting in the box because I'm too lazy to mount it. The bracket thing is gold though, I did the same thing with my PVC pipes and it's a game changer for holding all my random spray cans.
