Wasted $60 on a paint sprayer that clogged after 10 minutes

Picked up one of those cheap HVLP sprayers from the hardware chain last month to paint some garage shelves. Sprayed fine for maybe 10 minutes then started spitting chunks everywhere. Took it apart three times trying to clean it and finally just threw it in the bin. Anyone else had luck with a sprayer under $100 that actually works for more than one project?

Thing is, those $60 sprayers are basically disposable. I mean, maybe it's just me but I've seen guys go through three of them in a season and still swear by em. For garage shelves, you could've just used a roller and been done in the same time it took you to mess with that thing. Idk, I get the appeal of a sprayer but under a hundred bucks you're basically buying a toy. I'd rather spend the money on a good brush and some patience than fight with a clogged nozzle every 15 minutes. Just my two cents though.
