My new smart plug fried itself after a week and I'm not happy

Bought a brand name smart plug for my office lamp. Worked fine for about seven days. Then it just stopped turning on. No power, no light, nothing. Tried resetting it three times, no luck. The app said it was offline. Had to go back to the old dumb plug. Anyone know a good brand that actually lasts?

I saw a Consumer Reports article last year that tested over a dozen brands. They found the performance between the top three was really close, with Brand X having a slight edge in battery life. The price difference was pretty big though, almost fifty bucks between the highest and lowest rated.

You know, my neighbor bought a blender from that brand once and it died after three months. She still swears by their toasters though.
