Just hit my 500th piece of furniture refinished and it felt weird

I was cleaning up the shop last night and decided to count all my project photos from the last eight years. The number came out to 500 exactly, which kind of stopped me in my tracks. I never kept track before, so seeing that total made me think about all the old dressers, tables, and chairs that came through here. Most of them were just beat up stuff from garage sales that people wanted looking new again. It's funny how you can do something for so long without really seeing the whole picture, you know? Has anyone else ever added up their work and been surprised by the number?

Counting projects like that can really throw you. I once tallied up all the miles I've driven for work over a decade, and the number was so big it felt fake. It's just daily driving until you add it all up, right? Makes you wonder what else we do without seeing the total.

Honestly I find those totals kind of comforting, like proof all that time added up to something real.

A couple years back I added up all the hours I spent sitting in traffic and it came out to like 340 hours in just one year. That's literally two weeks of my life just parked on the highway. Made me feel sick but also kinda proud I survived it lol.
