Vent: Counted a full 17 pickle jars in my fridge this morning

I was just looking for my leftover spaghetti and realized I have 17 empty pickle jars stacked in there like some kind of hoarder monument. Has anyone else just... stopped throwing away jars for no reason?

Then you start actually using them for stuff and suddenly you're the person with 12 matching pickle jars full of dry beans lining the counter. I've got three different sizes now, the big ones hold my rice and the little ones hold my loose change and paperclips. It's a system at this point, a really stupid system but it works. My brother came over once and asked if I was opening a deli. Just tell yourself you're being resourceful and not a borderline hoarder, that's what I do.

Actually had a friend who got so deep into this that her entire kitchen was just recycled pasta sauce jars. She had them labeled with masking tape and everything. One day she ran out of jars and started washing out those plastic takeout containers from Chinese restaurants, the ones with the wire handles. Her roommate came home and found her drying a stack of them on the dish rack and just turned around and walked out. Next thing I know she's got a whole cabinet full of those too, using them for leftovers and freezing soup portions. She called it her "container economy" and got genuinely upset when people threw away good jars. Kind of respect the dedication even if it looks insane.
