PSA: That jar of pickled eggs I forgot about for 6 months turned into a science experiment
I found this old jar of pickled eggs shoved way in the back of my fridge behind some expired ketchup. They were from April, so about 6 months old. The brine had turned this weird cloudy yellow and there were little floaties in there that I cannot explain. I opened it just to smell (bad idea) and it hit me like a fog of sour death. I swear the eggs looked like pale aliens floating in swamp water. My girlfriend dared me to eat one and I almost did just for the story, but common sense won (barely). Has anyone else found something in their fridge that was so far gone it became a hazard? I need to know I'm not the only one who forgets stuff back there.

It's like our fridges are just time capsules we forget about until they turn.

Hold up @abbyr96 I gotta gently push back on "time capsules" because those actually preserve things on purpose. My fridge is more like a crime scene I keep meaning to clean up.
