That friend who said 'just throw it all in a pan' ruined my Tuesday dinner
My buddy Dave told me to stop overthinking leftovers and just toss everything in a cast iron with some oil. So I did. Half a jar of salsa verde, some leftover meatloaf, three sad carrots, and a scoop of old rice. It came out tasting like someone burned a burrito in a dirty gym sock. I should have known better than to trust a guy who puts ketchup on his eggs. Anyone else get burned by bad advice from a friend who acts like they know cooking?

Your mileage may vary, but I used to be all about the "just throw it together" method myself. Then I tried a similar experiment with some leftover stir fry and, well, let's just say I learned the hard way that not all flavors play nice. Now I actually plan my leftover combos a little more carefully. That ketchup on eggs thing is a huge red flag though, honestly.

Oh man, the real hack nobody talks about is learning which leftovers actually get better overnight. Chili and pasta sauce? Yes. Fried chicken? Hard no, that stuff gets weird in the fridge.
