Finally tried simmering vs. baking leftover chili cheese dip and one was way better
I had a half-eaten bowl of chili cheese dip from last week and couldn't decide if I should just reheat it in the oven or try simmering it on the stove with a splash of milk. The stovetop method took like 5 minutes and came out all smooth and creamy, while the oven version got all crusty on top and took 20 minutes. Has anyone else found a quicker way to bring back leftover dips without ruining the texture?

I still eat it cold straight from the Tupperware like a caveman.

Funny you say that, because I used to be all about the oven method myself. Figured it was the only way to get that crusty top, like a fresh baked dip. But after reading your post, I tried the stovetop with a little milk last night on some old queso and yeah, you're right. It came out way smoother and didn't have that dried out skin on top. Took maybe 4 minutes and I'm not going back.
