My fridge door shelf collapsed at 2 AM last Tuesday, dumped a bottle of sriracha and a jar of pickles everywhere.

I was half asleep and just stood there in the mess for a solid minute before grabbing a roll of paper towels. Anyone else had a fridge shelf just give out on them?

Man, what a way to wake up. Did the sriracha lid pop off too? That's the real nightmare. My old fridge did that with a shelf full of condiments, and cleaning sticky soy sauce out of the door seal is the worst. You just stand there in the dark, questioning all your life choices.

Ever try putting a rubber band around the lid? It sounds dumb but it actually works... keeps the pressure from popping it off. I also moved all my squeeze bottles to a cheap plastic bin on the bottom shelf. That way if one goes off, it's at least contained.
