My brother said I'd never finish that jar of kimchi, but I just used the last of it in some fried rice.

Oh, that's the best feeling! Finishing a big jar of kimchi feels like a real kitchen win. My husband always doubts I'll get through mine too, but it finds its way into everything near the end. That last bit in fried rice is always perfect, just enough flavor left. Proving them wrong is a small but sweet victory.

Calling it a kitchen win seems a bit much. It's just an empty jar at the end of the day. The real victory is not having to buy more for a while.

Honestly, I get a little sad when I finish a jar! It's like saying goodbye to a friend that made every meal better. I try to make it last as long as possible, so hitting the bottom is kind of a bummer. The victory for me is finding one more forgotten container in the back of the fridge.
