I finally realized why my proposals kept getting ignored for months

I was sending the same basic template to every client for a year, but after tracking my responses, I saw a 70% reply rate only when I mentioned their specific city or a local event. Now I spend 10 minutes researching each prospect before I write anything. What's one small change that actually got you more replies?

Switched from "Hi there" to starting with a compliment on their actual work. Saw a post they wrote or a project they did and mentioned it right away. It shows you actually looked and aren't just blasting the same message to everyone. My reply rate went way up just from that.

Sounds fake though, like you're just fishing for a reply. Feels like a cheap trick instead of a real talk starter.

What kind of compliments work best, like on a project or their writing?
