Totally agree with this, those live demonstrations are something else. Saw a similar iron pour at a heritage site in the states years ago and it still sticks with me. The sheer heat hitting your face from across the room and that weird mineral smell is wild. Makes you really appreciate the old school skill it took to do that work every day.

Read about how those iron pour workers had to deal with the heat ALL day long. Heard from a docent that the smell comes from the sand molds burning, and it's kinda toxic if you breathe too much. Makes you realize how TOUGH those jobs were, no safety gear back then. Still, there's something MAGICAL about watching molten metal flow, like liquid fire. Can't imagine doing that work in summer heat, it must have been brutal.

That weird mineral smell michael_mason mentioned really does stick with you, huh. What part of that whole thing made it feel most dangerous or real to you, like the lack of gear?
