Our old core shooter gave out mid-run on Friday, dumped a whole batch.
Honestly, we had to rig a manual patch with some spare refractory cement just to finish the shift. Anyone got a lead on a decent rebuilt unit under 5 grand?

Just patched it with refractory cement to finish the run... that's some real field engineering right there. Can't believe the whole core shooter just gave up like that.

Classic core shooter move, always at the worst time. That refractory cement patch is the kind of thing they don't teach you in school. Seen guys use everything from furnace cement to high temp epoxy as a band aid. Good luck finding a rebuilt unit that doesn't cost more than the machine it's going into. The used market is a total gamble right now.

Wait, you finished the whole run with just a patch? That's wild! I would've been so scared it would blow out again under pressure. Those temps are no joke.
