Furnace temperature swings are ruining our cast quality

We've had more scrap this week than ever because the temps keep shifting. How do you handle unstable equipment?

Read a case study where a foundry fixed swings by replacing old thermocouples. The new ones had faster response times and better accuracy. They also installed a backup temperature controller that kicked in if the primary drifted. Took them a week to dial it in, but scrap rates dropped hard.

My buddy at a plating shop had the same headache with their tanks. Their old sensors were so slow, the solution temp would swing 20 degrees before they caught it. They swapped in some faster digital probes and added a second controller as a fail-safe. Took them a few days to get the settings right, but their reject pile shrunk by half. He said the new gear paid for itself in a month just from saved material.

Oh man, same thing happened to us! Upgrading our old temp sensors was a total game changer for our rejects.
