Subtitle file hunt for a 2006 found footage gem ate my whole Friday

I dug up this obscure movie called The Hunted from 2006, shot like a bootleg camp video, and the only copy online had burned-in Russian subs. Spent 6 hours trying to sync a separate English track from a fan site, but the timing was off by like 4 seconds the whole way through. Eventually I just played it in VLC and hit the 'H' key to delay audio by 4000ms, which lined it up perfectly. Has anyone else wrestled with dodgy fan subs for weird found footage flicks, or do you just raw-dog the original language?
