Hell House LLC is way scarier than The Houses October Built and it's not even close
Ngl I rewatched both last week and Hell House LLC just nails that slow dread with the clowns and the basement shots. The Houses October Built relies too much on obnoxious characters wandering around and the payoff falls flat. Has anyone else noticed how HH LLC uses the hotel layout to build tension way better than the haunted house gimmick in THOB?

Heard some folks on a true crime podcast talking about how Hell House LLC was based on an actual abandoned hotel they used for filming, and you can really feel that creepy realness. The way they use all those dark hallways and random room doors just gets under your skin compared to the whole bus trip thing.

Fair enough but I gotta push back on that. The bus trip thing is actually way scarier because you're trapped in a tight space with nowhere to go. An abandoned hotel is creepy sure but you can always run out a door or window. The bus makes you feel helpless in a way those dark hallways just can't match.
